CSA Fire Sprinkler Fitter Practice Exam

The maximum hanger distance for threaded light wall steel pipe should follow the guidelines established in applicable standards such as NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes or local building codes. For an 8-inch diameter threaded light wall steel pipe, the standards dictate that hangers should be installed within a specific distance to ensure the pipe is adequately supported, preventing issues such as sagging and stress on joints.

In this scenario, the answer indicating "NA" suggests that there may not be a specific maximum distance defined for an 8-inch diameter pipe in the code or that the maximum distance does not apply uniformly, perhaps due to other factors such as the type of installation or building codes in effect.

In general, for larger pipes like 8 inches, the maximum distance can sometimes vary based on other attributes such as insulation, system pressure, and environmental conditions. Thus, the response indicating "not applicable" reflects that there isn't a singular maximum distance applicable across all circumstances for this size of pipe. This interpretation supports various installation scenarios and related rules, which is why NA is the appropriate choice in this context.
